EVP of Operations
Brian Schmidt is the Executive Vice President of Operations for Academy Energy Group. He is responsible for managing customer projects, building project requirements, managing delivery, and an intermediary between production and client. With his electrical sales background, Brian understands that effective communication lays the foundation for project success.
Academy Energy Group is an Electrical & Chemical Products Distributor. We supply products, application engineering, and product selection for Automation, Power, Lighting, Control, Renewable/Solar PV, & Chemical Products. AEG is a Verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our focus markets include targeted Corporations, Industrials, the Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), Engineering, Procurement and Construction firms (EPC), Design Build firms, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors, and Federal/State Government direct
Brian has worked in the electrical industry since 2003. During his sales distribution role with Gexpro, formerly GE Supply, Brian supported major product categories such as: motors, switchgear, lighting, factory automation, and hydraulics/pneumatics.
As an inside sales representative for Gexpro/GE Supply, Brian serviced large industrial accounts in various markets such as: petro chemical, manufacturing, automotive, and appliance. Brian worked closely with category procurement managers, electricians, on-site & off-site engineers, and facility management to ensure customer success. Various duties included: procurement, technical assistance, billing/invoice realization, general and special product sourcing, and operational responsibilities.
Some key projects include: City of Evansville River Walk-LED/Solar Site Lighting; Social Security Administration Building Retrofit, Baltimore, MD; US Naval Undersea Warfare Center Retrofit, Newport, RI; Oblate Residence Rooftop Solar PV, Toledo, OH; (3) Hospitals for The Department of Veterans Affairs - VA VISN 11, Danville, IL/Marion, IN/Fort Wayne, IN. Brian studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern Indiana.
