Andy Lynch is the Executive Vice President of Business Development for Academy Energy Group. He is responsible for developing customer relationships as well as project solutions. Andy works closely with their vendors and manufactures to understand how to apply products and in various applications to help meet their customers’ needs.
Bill Morrison and Andy Lynch are the Founders and Principals of Academy Energy Group, an Electrical & Chemical Products Distributor. We supply products, application engineering, and product selection for Automation, Power, Lighting, Control, Renewable/Solar PV, & Chemical Products. Andy Lynch has been working in the electrical industry since 1995. His career in the electrical industry began on the manufacturing side with Juno Lighting and Sylvania. Andy first supported the Lighting and Energy Efficiency market through the Siemens Building Technologies group for the performance contracting industry. In 1999, Andy moved from the manufacturing side of the industry to the Electrical Distribution and supply side. He supplied many electrical distribution systems for commercial, industrial clients, institutional, and electrical contractors.
As the Midwest Division Energy Manager for Gexpro, formerly GE Supply, he developed electrical and energy efficiency solutions to many market sectors, such as: automotive, energy, federal government, oil & gas, pulp & paper, mining, steel, wastewater, engineering firms, and more. Using his experience and product application expertise in lighting, lighting control, motors, drives, power quality, and solar PV, Andy assisted his customers to find the right products for their applications.
Some key projects include: New Cadet Barracks-US Military Academy at West Point; Social Security Administration Building Retrofit, Baltimore, MD; US Naval Undersea Warfare Center Retrofit, Newport, RI; Chicago Department of Transportation custom Subway Entrance signs (International Award for Best Lighting Project – Sonepar); Palmer House Hotel Historic Lighting Restoration Chicago, IL; US Marines 600kW solar PV carport system Quantico, VA; and lighting for (5) Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals.
Andy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois-Urbana. Andy currently resides in Lombard, Illinois with his wife Therese, and their six children, Jimmy, Ellie, Abby, Eddie, Tommy, and Penny.
